What is the MAHAWELI EXPEDITION?

The Mahaweli River, known in Sinhala as 'The Great Sandy River' or Mahaweli, is the longest river in Sri Lanka with a total length of 335 km. Eco Grip opens up a world of wilderness to you on this journey down the majestic river.

Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned adventurer, we'll help ensure you have the best possible experience with the highest safety standards.

You are free to choose between his 3 adventures of 2, 3 or 4 days. Each one is unique and offers a completely different experience.

All food and beverages and all safety equipment will be provided by EcoGrip. Another day mimicking the same environment where paddlers learn kayaking, canoeing, self-rescue and rescue techniques, river reading skills, navigating rapids, and the bushcraft skills necessary to sustain themselves in the wilderness Training is provided.

Lots of wild elephants and a rich and diverse bird life. Occasionally, the slightest sound of a paddle can make an alligator flinch. The occasional Class I and II rapids provide a sense of urgency and adrenaline rush to make this expedition an experience of a lifetime.
